User Experience Design Lead

We are seeking an experienced User Experience Design Lead to join our team at Newance. This role will be responsible for designing, documenting, optimizing, prototyping, and testing user interfaces for web applications as well as thick client applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices for web applications, with experience in design systems and guidelines, user research, and usability testing.
Responsibilities- Design Systems and Guidelines: Develop and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency across all applications.
- User Requirements: Create or contribute to requirements specifications involving user interactions and user interfaces.
- User Research: Conduct user research using various methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights on user needs and behaviors.
- Design Deliverables: Create user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design specifications for web applications.
- Prototyping and Testing: Create prototype interfaces that can be used to test designs and to facilitate development efforts.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and designers to translate business requirements and user feedback into effective design solutions.
- Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing and gather user feedback to iterate and improve web application designs.
- Data Analysis: Analyze user data and metrics to identify pain points and opportunities for enhancing the user experience.
- Design Advocacy: Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the organization.
- Communication: Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as a UX Specialist, UX Designer, or similar role, with a focus on web applications.
- Portfolio: Strong portfolio showcasing UX design work, particularly for web applications.
- Design Tools: Proficiency in design and prototyping tools.
- User-Centered Design: Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices for web applications.
- Responsive Web Design: Experience with responsive and mobile web design.
- Front-End Development: Knowledge of front-end development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Accessibility: Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines (e.g., WCAG).
- Agile Methodologies: Understanding of Agile methodologies and working in an Agile environment.
- User Research: Experience with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
