Job Summary

The Nurse-Resident role at Prisma Health is designed for new graduates or RNs with less than one year of experience. This program combines foundational and specialty-specific clinical core curriculum, quality classes, simulation, one-on-one skills validation, hands-on application with clinical mentors, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment: Collect patient data, complete required forms, and identify patient problems/needs.
  • Planning Care: Develop a plan of care based on nursing process and incorporate plans of other disciplines.
  • Implementing/Managing Care: Provide care that conforms to accepted practice standards, provide treatments/procedures, and explain nursing procedures.
  • Evaluation: Record patient care delivered and make observations related to impending or associated problems.
  • Leadership: Delegate nursing care, integrate cost-effective measures, and recognize unit problems.
Requirements

Associate's degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program approved by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing required. No previous experience is required. Candidates with greater than 12 months of experience are not eligible.

Certifications/Registrations/Licenses

Licensed to practice as a RN in South Carolina. BLS required.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced ICU Progressive Care environment at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
