BTE Body Company, a leading family-owned dealership in the United States, is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Shop Foreman to join our team.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Schedule and Assign Work
The ideal candidate will oversee the work of mechanics, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of our Service department. This includes scheduling jobs, assigning work areas to employees, and eliminating time lost between tasks.
Diagnostic ExpertiseA strong understanding of all truck components is essential, allowing you to diagnose problems effectively and recommend repairs. You will also be responsible for inspecting and advising mechanics on their work as it progresses.
Customer CommunicationExcellent communication skills are vital in this role, as you will be responsible for writing up repair orders, communicating with drivers and owners, and keeping track of each customer job. You must be able to advise customers on time of completion, cost of repairs, and additional requirements.
Maintenance and OrganizationYou will maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that company tools and equipment are properly maintained. Additionally, you will help determine parts to be replaced and follow through with the Parts Department to ensure availability.

Education and ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you will need a minimum high school diploma and at least four years of experience as a mechanic, with two years of experience as a shop foreman or lead mechanic. A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is also required.
