About the Role:

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will play a vital role in supporting plasma center operations and providing exceptional patient care. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.

You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follow guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs.

The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine donor eligibility and conduct medical interviews
  • Manage donor adverse events and provide emergency care when necessary
  • Review laboratory test results and notify donors of unsuitable test results
  • Collaborate with the Center Physician and Medical Affairs team to resolve medical issues
  • Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives at the plasma center

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate degree in nursing preferred
  • Current licensure as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
