Job Summary:

As a Licensed Millwright at Gerdau, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our heavy machinery and equipment. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, install, repair, replace, and adjust mechanical equipment in the plant.

Service the mechanical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Receive instructions, prints, and work orders, covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installation, and inspection work.

Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.

Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect.

Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage on computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.

Perform rounds and checks machinery condition using checklists or digital tools to identify abnormalities and ensure that machine functions are operating within the normal specifications.

Requirements:

Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic/Millwright - 433A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario is required.

Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, with exposure to Bearings, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication, Rotating Equipment.

Strong communication and work ethic, ability to work in a team and with other trades.

Basic computer experience.
