Job Title: HR Business Partner

Central City Concern is a leading nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addictions. We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team.

Job Summary:

The HR Business Partner will play a critical role in aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. This strategic and hands-on role will foster partnerships across the HR Centers of Excellence to drive and deliver value-added service to management and employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a single point of contact for employees and managers in assigned departments, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and legally compliant HR support.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units to discuss HR-related matters and provide guidance.
  • Partner closely with business unit management to provide HR guidance and support.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR COE to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation, as well as support for business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs, and participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to members of management, including coaching, counseling, and career development.
  • Communicate effectively with HR COE to ensure consistent application of CCC policies and collective bargaining agreement across the agency.
  • Build thorough knowledge of assigned department operations, funding structure, legal and regulatory landscape, workforce challenges, and culture to provide effective guidance to management decisions and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of HRBP experience, with working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • SHRM-CP/SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment and labor laws, as well as experience with a unionized workforce.
  • Advanced computer experience, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, TB test, and background check.
  • Must possess a current driver's license, access to a vehicle, and qualify as an Acceptable Driver as designated in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety policy.
