About the Role

We are seeking a certified Medical Assistant to join our team in SHERBURNE CO JAIL. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in patient care by gathering essential information during the clinical process under the supervision of Registered Nurses.

Responsibilities

  • You will collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, implementing established policies and procedures while intervening with proper techniques and safety precautions.
  • Gathering patient history, verifying medications, and making appropriate referrals for follow-up will be a key part of your responsibilities.
  • You will adhere to designated work schedules and respond effectively to codes or patient crises as per site policies.
  • Prioritizing infection control techniques and principles will contribute to the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients.
  • Maintaining working areas, supplies, and equipment, and attending mandatory staff meetings/training, will uphold a high standard of healthcare delivery and professional development.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A successful completion of an accredited CMA course is required.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant in the State where certification is required is necessary.
  • CPR certification may be required depending on the facility.

Compensation and Benefits

  • An estimated salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience.
