Medical Laboratory Technician

Rivers Edge Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory procedures, maintaining quality assurance, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic laboratory procedures to provide timely and accurate test results for healthcare providers.
- Participate in our laboratory's quality assurance plan to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by practicing Rivers Edge Hospital's Standards of Behavior.
- Understand the importance of the clinical laboratory in providing patient care and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in laboratory services.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and other laboratory staff to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
- Perform waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests as authorized by the Lab Manager and in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Collect and process specimens for laboratory testing, including venipuncture, capillary collection, and arterial collection.
- Participate in proficiency testing programs and adhere to laboratory quality control policies and procedures.
- Document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.
- Adhere to patient confidentiality and respect hospital policies related to privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA).
- Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution.
- ASCP certification or equivalent.
- Ability to travel to other work sites as needed with own transportation.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or willing to obtain certification within six months of hire.
