Aircraft Dispatcher

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our dispatch center, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of our aircraft functional area, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aviation resources throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and track multiple aircraft on various frequencies, maintaining clear and effective communication with incident commanders and other stakeholders.
- Deconflict airspace and make proper notifications to ensure safe aircraft operations.
- Keep multiple agencies informed of ongoing aircraft operations and locations, maintaining accurate records and communication logs.
- Collaborate with other dispatch centers, FAA air traffic controllers, and news media to ensure safe movement and interaction of aviation resources and airspace.
- Process and interpret weather information to pass on to aviation resources before and during operations.
- Organize and review records of all orders placed or filled for completeness, adhering to established operating procedures.
- Valid Arizona State Driver's License
- NWCG Initial Attack Dispatcher (IADP) qualified upon hire
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under urgent and frequently changing conditions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read topographical maps, aviation maps, and aerial photos to determine incident location, hazards, and airspace deconfliction
- National Interagency Incident Management System - Incident Command System (Red Card) qualifications: ACDP Aircraft Dispatcher; EDRC Expanded Dispatch Recorder; EDSD Expanded Dispatch Support Dispatcher; other wildland fire red card qualifications
