Job Title: Lead Tech, Maintenance

Job Summary:
Maintain the facilities maintenance of Universal Orlando buildings and complete specific work orders, including masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork. Handle daily trouble calls from the dispatcher and complete special projects as directed by the supervisor or lead.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan and delegate work tasks to ensure efficient completion.
  • Delegate work assignments among qualified crew members.
  • Communicate performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments or crafts as needed.
  • Provide two-way communications between work teams, supervisors, and other management and HR personnel.
  • Actively reinforce company safety guidelines and programs; report non-compliance.
  • Monitor employee productivity and work habits.
  • Lead work startup and stoppage, schedule breaks.
  • Monitor care, condition, use, and storage of tools, equipment, and other UO property.
  • Maintain material inventories.
  • Monitor compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.
  • Ensure proper completion of documentation, including providing feedback for recognition and performance improvement.
  • Capture written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
  • Rough in carpentry, including framing, sheet goods, wood decking, and dock work, as well as repairing wood and metal stud work.
  • Trim work, including various moldings, turnings, laminate application, and cabinet work.
  • Dry-Vit repair, including repairs of EFIS building systems.
  • Repair and finishing to various walkways and roadways throughout the parks.
  • Install and make repairs to wall and floor tiles and coverings made of various materials.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of theater seating, furniture, restroom stall doors, and partitions.
  • Install and make repairs to various commercial hardware, including door closures, panic hardware, mortis, and cylindrical locks.
  • Maintain and share job knowledge, assist in training, and develop new and current employees.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Scope:
Maintain the facilities maintenance of Universal Orlando buildings and complete specific work orders, including masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork. Handle daily trouble calls from the dispatcher and complete special projects as directed by the supervisor or lead.

Education:
High school degree or GED is required.

Experience:
  • 3-5 years general carpentry and construction experience, including framing, drywall, trim work, masonry, and tile.
  • 3-5 years commercial roofing experience.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
