Ice Resurfacing Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Omaha team as an Ice Resurfacing Specialist. In this part-time/seasonal role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) at the Motto McClean ice rink.

We are seeking a skilled individual with excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in planning and problem-solving, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees and members of the general public.

• Operate the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni) to ensure high-quality ice surfaces.
• Flood and paint the ice surface as required.
• Perform general maintenance of icemaking machines.
• Follow all safety programs associated with the operation of icemaking and ice maintenance equipment.
• Perform daily maintenance of all mechanical equipment.
• Keep maintenance logs on specified equipment.
• Assist with groundskeeping duties, including trash removal, lawn maintenance, and snow removal.
• Coordinate with building maintenance staff on facility upkeep.
• Sharpen ice-skates as needed.
• Handle sales at concessions and pro shop, including using a cash register.
• Provide exceptional customer service to members of the public.

• A minimum of 18 years old.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license from the time of appointment.
• Ability to work varied times, including weekends and holidays.

The estimated salary for this position is $30,000-$40,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a part-time/seasonal role, so benefits may not be applicable. However, successful candidates will receive competitive pay and the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.
