Ophthalmic Technician Specialist

Job Summary:
The Grady Health System is seeking a skilled Certified Ophthalmic Technician to provide high-quality eye care services to patients. As a key member of our ophthalmology team, you will assist ophthalmologists in ocular examinations and treatments, performing routine vision examinations, maintaining and cleaning instruments, preparing examination rooms, and educating patients on eye care and treatment options.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine vision examinations and assist ophthalmologists in ocular examinations and treatments.
- Maintain and clean instruments, ensuring a safe and sterile environment for patients.
- Prepare examination rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Provide patient education on eye care and treatment options, promoting patient understanding and empowerment.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Meet the qualifications and requirements outlined below.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional trade school or college coursework in a related field of study preferred.
- 2-3 years of ophthalmic experience required in a setting with a full-service ophthalmic center.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Active Certification by JCAHPO required.
