About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team and contribute to the growth and development of the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM). As a key member of our Model Management Office (MMO), you will advise and assist in designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure, practices, and tools that realize a DevSecOps environment.

Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  • Resource Provisioning: Configuring, provisioning, and managing infrastructure and services required for the development and deployment of MMO products and services, including virtual machines, containers, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Configuration Management: Managing infrastructure and service configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices, ensuring consistent management and operation across deployment contexts and classification domains.
  • Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD): Designing, implementing, and managing robust CI/CD pipelines that support the delivery of MMO products and services, including version control systems, product-specific build and verification systems, and technology/platform-specific workflows and automation.
  • Instrumentation and Continuous Inspection: Implementing and managing metrics, tools, instrumentation, and dashboards to provide insights into platform, product, and process performance, including platform performance metrics, product quality metrics, and agile/lean process quality metrics.
  • Security and Compliance: Coordinating with cybersecurity engineers and managers to ensure security and compliance, implementing technical and policy controls, and advising on cross-domain workflows that incorporate Controlled Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret, SCI, and SAP information sources.
  • Incident Response: Coordinating incident response activities and contributing to post-incident reports for continuous improvement.
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, playbooks, and administrator guides.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in DevOps or a related field, with a demonstrated history of designing, implementing, and managing infrastructure, practices, and tools that realize a DevSecOps environment.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level-II certification in accordance with AFMAN-17-1303 and DoD 8570.01-M.
  • Experience working with or within DoD, Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC), or Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in configuring, provisioning, and managing infrastructure and services required for development and deployment, including virtual machines, containers, and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong background in managing infrastructure and service configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) practices.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, including version control systems and build/verification systems.
  • Ability to implement and manage metrics, tools, instrumentation, and dashboards to provide insights into platform, product, and process performance.
  • Experience coordinating with cybersecurity engineers and managers to ensure security and compliance, and implementing technical and policy controls.
  • Experience in coordinating incident response activities and contributing to post-incident reports for continuous improvement.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, playbooks, and administrator guides.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
