Nursing Department Manager

The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the nursing department within a healthcare facility. This role involves overseeing the nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining compliance with established standards and regulations. The Director of Nursing Services develops and implements nursing policies and procedures, manages the hiring and training of nursing personnel, and ensures that staffing levels are adequate to meet the needs of residents. Additionally, this position requires monitoring the conduct of nursing staff, staying informed about incidents within the facility, and assessing the health needs of all residents. The Director of Nursing Services must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a commitment to fostering a professional and supportive work environment for all nursing staff.
Duties:
- Lead and manage all nursing staff within the facility.
- Create and enforce nursing policies and procedures.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and retention of nursing staff.
- Ensure adequate nursing staff levels and that their skills are up to date.
- Supervise nursing staff behavior and professional conduct.
- Stay aware of all incidents and events within the facility.
- Evaluate and address the healthcare needs of each resident.
Requirements:
- Current State RN license.
- At least 5 years of experience in longterm care.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Proven strong leadership and supervisory skills.
