Job Summary

Renown Health seeks a skilled Palliative Care Physician to join our team. As a vital member of our healthcare community, you will provide consultation services for pain and symptom management, working closely with our staff to develop effective care plans.

About the Role

This position involves providing clinical services to patients in their last 6 months of life, who have chosen not to receive life-prolonging treatment. You will work independently, utilizing your expertise to obtain results with minimal disruption, while involving various internal and external groups as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history, examine, diagnose, counsel, and treat patients within your area of specialty and experience.
  • Make critical decisions regarding medical care, working closely with management staff to ensure administrative policies are followed.
  • Participate in physician governance meetings, contributing to management decisions and adhering to policies adopted by Renown Health and its medical staff.
  • Stay up-to-date on current advances in medicine by reviewing recent publications, attending educational meetings, and completing continuing medical education programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic (DO) medicine license from the State of Nevada.
  • Controlled substance License to Prescribe issued by the State of Nevada and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA, required.
  • Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), with Certification obtained within two years of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Certification Life Support (ACLS) certification, preferably from the American Heart Association.
