Specialized Caregiver for Developmental Disability Support

About the RoleWe are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialized Caregiver to join our team. As a Caregiver, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home setting.
About the JobThis role offers a competitive salary of $20 per hour, plus opportunities for annual increases. You will work regular and consistent schedules, including at least one weekend shift per week. This position requires working with individuals who may have severe behavioral challenges, such as verbal and physical aggression.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene and meal preparation
- Implement behavioral de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants and their families
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- DSP Year 1 and DSP Year 2 certifications (preferred)
- Minimum 6 months of experience in direct care of individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with individuals who have severe behavioral challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
