Controller Role Overview

Michael Page is partnering with a global, multi-million dollar manufacturing company to find a highly skilled Controller to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a leadership role and make a significant impact on the organization's financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the organization's accounting and finance functions, including managing a team of 4 staff accountants and AR/AP functions.
  • Assist in the strategic financial planning of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Conduct internal financial audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to improve financial processes and increase efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and analyses to communicate financial results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with banks, external auditors, and accounting firms to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Optimize cash flow and tax strategies to minimize costs and maximize returns.
  • Manage the budgeting process, capital expenditures, and business insurance to ensure financial stability.
  • Engage in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure financial performance and drive improvement.
  • Plan for cost reduction and ensure costing accuracy to maintain competitiveness.
  • Oversee asset management to ensure optimal use of resources.
  • Manage cost accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support organizational structure and development to ensure effective team management.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 10+ years of accounting/finance experience, with a strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing a team of accountants and finance professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial results to leadership and stakeholders.
