Job Overview

Alleghany Highlands Community Services is seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to provide community-based day support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating community inclusion, providing direct support, and implementing individualized plans to promote health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate individual needs and goals, develop and implement community-based day activities, and maintain records.
  • Implement supports to ensure individual health and safety, while assisting individuals in participating in meaningful community activities.
  • Demonstrate professional standards of conduct and confidentiality, working collaboratively with individuals served, families, caregivers, and community stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Similar experience (preferred)
  • Certification in CPR, basic First Aid, and medication administration (required but can be obtained upon hire)
  • Valid driver's license (required)
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends
