The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Siemens Healthineers in Ohio, USA.

Role:

This role involves performing mammography exams on patients of all ages to assist in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The successful candidate will interact professionally with physicians, patients, and team members, utilizing critical thinking skills and leadership qualities to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Performing high-quality mammography exams while delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Maintaining compliance with Siemens policies and procedures, as well as hospital and departmental guidelines.
  • Evaluating images for quality and facility standards, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Maintaining equipment according to Infection Control procedures and performing quality control checks as requested.
  • Participating in ongoing education and training programs to maintain clinical and technical competency.
  • Following facilities quality assurance guidelines and maintaining patient confidentiality/HIPAA.
  • Performing screening and diagnostic mammography imaging procedures according to department protocols.
  • Adjusting equipment and instructing patients to eliminate imaging artifacts.
  • Monitoring patients for potentially dangerous physical and emotional changes.
  • Evaluating imaging results for positioning and technical accuracy.
  • Reviewing images with peers and physicians for critique.
  • Informing physicians of preliminary findings as requested according to department guidelines.
  • Distributing completed test results to physicians and service providers according to department guidelines.
  • Preparing diagnostic information for physician interpretation according to department guidelines.
  • Maintaining patient charts, entering diagnosis and billing codes, logging data into patient information systems, and updating file systems for tests performed according to department guidelines.
  • Cleaning and sterilizing equipment and workspace.
  • Recognizing equipment malfunctions and readjusting equipment or writing/calling in for repair.
  • Instructing patients in pretest preparation, answering questions, and explaining procedures according to department guidelines.
  • Maintaining current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.
  • Performing equipment quality checks and troubleshooting problems, calling for service and notifying team members.
  • Performing additional duties as required.
