Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role:
Varsity Spirit, LLC is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring proper company procedures are followed, processing virtual credit card payments, and managing a caseload of credit card chargebacks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Under direct supervision of the AR Supervisor, ensure proper company procedures are followed.
- Process virtual credit card payments and manage a caseload of credit card chargebacks.
- Investigate and resolve customer and/or internal inquiries.
- Thoroughly note all accounting discrepancies and follow up on item(s) until final resolution is complete.
- Actively investigate and resolve irregularities in both incoming and outgoing payments.
- Build and maintain a positive business relationship with internal/external customers.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements.
- Participate in special projects, and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Manage accounting needs for international accounts.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1+ years of recent experience in a customer service environment with a proven record of reducing past due balances with a soft collection approach.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Must have a strong, positive work ethic.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Must possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills must be able to effectively communicate with external and internal customers.
Education, Certification and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- 1 – 3 years of accounts receivable experience preferred.
- Experience in SAP, High Radius, AS400, JD Edwards and Sales Force is a plus.
