The Business Development Specialist's primary goal is to generate sales by nurturing existing customer relationships and prospecting for new customers. This role involves providing world-class account management, acting as a liaison between the company and a group of customers.

This entry-level position requires strategic sales strategies and ideally, a proven track record of success in prospecting, penetrating, managing, and closing customers. The ideal candidate works collaboratively with a team to drive sales by focusing on acquisition, development, retention, and management of strategic clients in designated territories.

Responsibilities include:

  • Penetrating accounts at both functional and executive levels, working with business team leaders and industry experts to design superior solutions for customers' current and future needs.
  • Providing cross-territory technical and sales expertise when needed.
  • Executing MSC Collaboration projects and cross-selling activities.
  • Acting as a role model for all sales associates and consistently demonstrating MSC values and financial achievement.
  • Working with internal teams to ensure operational efficiencies and service levels meet and exceed customer expectations through strong customer service orientation with excellent follow-up skills.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to four year college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years outside direct sales/service experience preferred.
  • 2 years of industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in account retention and account penetration preferred.

Benefits include compensation starting at $62,000 - $64,000 base with commission, a valid driver's license, and frequent lifting, bending, and stretching. Job entails driving up to several hours per day to customer locations within an assigned territory or region.
