At Albany Medical Center, we are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse II to join our team in the Neurosciences & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) - D5N.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work with patients who require specialized care in neuroscience and epilepsy monitoring.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1-3 years of clinical RN experience, preferably in Telemetry or ICU settings, and be able to demonstrate sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.

We offer a competitive salary range of $36.73 - $60.93 per hour, reflecting the value we place on our employees' expertise and contributions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
  • Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
  • Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
  • Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
  • Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred.
  • Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license.
  • Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry or ICU experience is required.
  • Ability to improve job performance through continuing education.
  • Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
