Claims Assistant Job Description

As a Claims Assistant, you will be responsible for entering payment information into our proprietary system, verifying incoming invoices and payment instructions, managing claim documents, and setting up new claim files. You will also act as a liaison between claim handlers in Japan and the defense counsel for relatively simple claims.

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $75,000, depending on qualifications, skills, and experience. Our comprehensive U.S. benefit programs include medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) retirement savings plan with competitive employer contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter payment information into our proprietary system based on incoming invoices and payment instructions from claim handlers.
  • Verify incoming invoices and payment instructions from claim handlers to ensure there are no duplicate payments or errors in instructions.
  • Manage claim documents such as invoices, settlement agreements, and wire instructions.
  • Set up new claim files, saving documents, and entering claim information, including claim description, status, and reserve into our proprietary system.
  • Act as the liaison between claim handlers in Japan and the defense counsel for relatively simple claims.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Japanese language and a deep understanding of Japanese corporate culture.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in numerical data entry and verification with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and implement self-management strategies to prevent errors.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and excellent time management skills.
