Welder Technician

Rumpke Waste and Recycling, a leading provider of waste management services in Kentucky, is seeking an experienced Fabrication Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our repair and fabrication department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our fleet and equipment.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The Fabrication Specialist will be responsible for performing various tasks related to welding, cutting, grinding, and repairing company containers, compactors, and other equipment. This includes fabricating steel components, cutting metal using plasma cutters or torches, and sanding and grinding metal parts after welding.

• Perform repairs and maintenance on company containers, compactors, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Grind metal parts after welding to ensure a smooth finish.
• Use MIG and ARC welding equipment to weld steel components.
• Fabricate steel components for containers and other equipment.
• Cut steel using plasma cutters, torches, or nibblers.
• Perform other fabrication and repair work as required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A strong background in welding and fabrication, with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of MIG/ARC and stick welding techniques.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Physical stamina to perform prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas.
