We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Childrens Hospital Of The Kings Daughter. This role will involve providing individualized psychiatric and medical nursing care to patients, with a focus on pediatric medical-surgical nursing experience.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a nurse with a passion for working with children and adolescents. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will be responsible for planning, providing, and monitoring individualized psychiatric and medical nursing care following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Plan, provide, and monitor individualized psychiatric and medical nursing care following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as established by individualized plan of care for preschool, school-age, or adolescent patients and their families.
- Provide developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
- CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
- PALS required within 1 year of hire.
- RN certification preferred.
- Must have an Associates in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience, however a BSN is preferred. If hired with an ADN, the candidate must complete a BSN program within three years from their date of hire.
- Pediatric medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Pediatric inpatient psychiatric or pediatric med-psych nursing experience is desirable.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
$60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
