Job Summary

As an Instructional Coach with Community Action Project of Tulsa County, Inc., you will play a vital role in advancing the professional learning of teachers and improving student outcomes. This position requires a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, pedagogy, and research. You will work closely with teachers to develop and implement effective instructional strategies, utilizing assessment data to drive student learning. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with relevant educational standards, laws, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe and coach teachers on developmentally appropriate instructional techniques and practices in the classroom.
  • Provide guidance, support, and suggestions to teachers through individualized lesson plans, child assessments, and classroom observations.
  • Conduct formal coaching sessions and assist teachers in setting and achieving coaching goals, as well as school readiness and program goals.
  • Monitor and support the implementation of curriculum to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning environment.
  • Identify training needs of staff and participate in individual training plans for staff development.
  • Ensure ongoing communication with school leaders, teaching and learning specialists, and other relevant staff regarding coaching practices.
  • Plan, conduct, and evaluate in-service programs based on staff needs and available resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between teachers, management, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • 3+ years of classroom experience as a degreed or certified lead teacher.
  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related area preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of developmentally, culturally, and individually appropriate practices in early childhood classrooms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, read, interpret, and present information efficiently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
