Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Worth, Illinois.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to perform ultrasound procedures, position patients, and operate equipment to obtain high-quality scans. The successful candidate will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain optimal quality scans.
  • Operate portable ultrasound equipment to perform procedures throughout the hospital.
  • Assist physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies.
  • Document department records, including inventory of supplies and patient statistics.
  • Maintain patient records, assemble daily schedules, and prepare patient folders.
  • Prepare ultrasound rooms and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Operate hospital computer systems as required.
  • Secure pertinent medical history from patients and provide radiologists with adequate information.
  • Work closely with radiologists to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other personnel.
  • Comply with established hospital safety standards and maintain annual CPR certification.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and eligible for ARDMS registry.
  • ARDMS Registered or ARDMS registry eligible within 24 months of graduation.
  • CPR certification.
Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be able to adjust to flexible hours, work odd hours, and respond to emergency calls. They will also be able to stand for long periods, view video display screens, and perform lifting activities related to patients.

This position requires the ability to recognize needs and behaviors of all age groups and modify approach and communication skills accordingly.

Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

The candidate must be able to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and use patient handling equipment when necessary.
