Shelter Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to work in our shelter, providing a safe and welcoming environment for our clients. As a Shelter Worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the shelter, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the overall mission of The Salvation Army.

• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Ensure the shelter is clean, safe, and well-maintained, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the intake process, including checking in clients, assigning beds, and providing necessary information.
• Support the shelter manager in maintaining accurate records, including client information, incident reports, and shelter operations.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and stand for long periods.
