Job Title: Music Ministry Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Music Ministry Director to lead our Protestant Service at Vance Air Force Base Chapel.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing musical direction for the Protestant Service, leading the praise team and congregation in worship, and maintaining the music library. They will also coordinate support requirements with the Chaplain and recruit volunteers within the music program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide musical direction for the Protestant Service
  • Lead the praise team and congregation in worship
  • Maintain the music library and songs used in the worship service
  • Coordinate support requirements with the Chaplain or their designated representative
  • Recruit and coordinate volunteers within the music program
  • Be accountable for opening, restoring to its neutral setting, cleaning, and securing any facilities used for music events, rehearsals, worship services, or special services
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in music or a minimum of four years' experience directing and playing for worship services with an emphasis on Gospel and/or Contemporary Christian music
  • Have 1 or more years of college in music (or related field), or equivalent years of related experience in a chapel/church setting
  • Must believe and adhere to the basic tenets of the Protestant Christian faith
  • Be able to sing and vocally lead congregation in worship
  • Be able to skillfully play either a guitar and/or piano
  • Be able to plan, organize, and lead a Protestant style praise team
  • Be able to sing and play music in keeping with a Contemporary, Protestant style, music service
Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is between $50,000 and $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
