Sales Strategy Lead

The Director of Sales at Sheraton Universal Hotel plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and enhancing customer satisfaction. This leadership position demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and financial analysis.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing sales team, develop strategic plans, and execute tactics to attract potential customers and retain existing ones. As the primary sales spokesperson, you will represent Sheraton Universal at industry events and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and vendors.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with hotel goals, informed by market trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis.
* Lead the annual sales budgeting process, ensuring effective resource allocation.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, agencies, and vendors; prospect through various lines of communication, negotiate contracts, close deals, and ensure deliverables align with Marriott brand and hotel standards.
* Collaborate with other departments to align sales strategies with overall hotel goals.
* Present sales strategies and performance reports to the executive team.
* Act as the primary sales spokesperson at industry events.
* Direct and mentor the sales team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
* Set and monitor sales targets, providing coaching to ensure objectives are met or exceeded.
* Utilize data and analytics to inform sales strategies, track performance, and adjust as necessary.
* Stay current with sales technologies and tools to enhance team efficiency.
* Conduct hotel tours, entertain potential clients, and adhere to company policies.
* Assist and supervise Sales Managers, and perform additional duties as requested by the General Manager, including hosting functions and participating in sales blitzes.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Proven track record in sales leadership, with a strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, financial analysis, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from corporate, managers, clients, guests, and the general public.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical hotel revenue solutions.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Benefits and Salary
The salary range for this position is $185,000 to $200,000 annually, based on location and experience.
