Data Management Specialist

ARES is seeking a Data Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with data access management in SharePoint and a strong technical background. The role involves coordinating with stakeholders to leverage cross-program tools for data management across NASA, reviewing new and existing data access management workflows for compliance with the Data Management Plan, and developing auditing processes and procedures to ensure compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to leverage cross-program tools for data management across NASA
  • Review new and existing data access management workflows for compliance with the Data Management Plan
  • Develop auditing processes and procedures to ensure compliance with the Data Management Plan
  • Submit application and website registration and monitor export control review status
  • Attend and participate in monthly meetings associated with data management at NASA
  • Provide data management training and guidance documentation for supported programs
  • Develop and maintain a Data Management Plan including related technical documentation for access to IT systems

Requirements:

  • Experience working with access management in SharePoint
  • Strong technical skills and ability to learn new environments and processes quickly
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through skills
  • Experience working individually and actively participating on integrated teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with and/or developing NAMS Workflows
  • Experience developing technical documentation and training

Education and Relevant Work Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience plus, five (5) years of IT experience
