Clinical Nurse Specialist

Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Ohio Center for Pediatrics in Dublin, OH. As a Registered Nurse for COPC, you will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to providing exceptional primary care to our patients.
This is a full-time hybrid position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. You will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient delivery of primary health care and creating a positive patient experience.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and excellent communication skills. You will be working closely with our clinical team to develop and implement plans of care, administer medications and treatments, and provide health counseling and education to patients and their families.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:- Perform assessment and evaluation of patients, working collaboratively with the clinical team to develop plans of care.
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments, and perform routine medical procedures.
- Provide medical triage via telephone for patients.
- Provide health counseling and education to patients and their families.
- Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Foster a climate that allows for direct communication between the clinical team, patients, and caregivers to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborate with other team members to address gaps in care and promote improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Act as a patient advocate to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
- Review physician orders and lab requests, following up as needed, and call in prescriptions and order refills as approved and directed.
- Measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record them on patients' charts.
- Communicate test results to patients as directed and record notes in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Assist in patient education using related educational tools, periodicals, flyers, and handouts.
- Assist with Department of Transportation, FMLA, and Medical Disability application forms.
- Respond to patient phone calls as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend meetings and participate in classroom activities as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Current Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- BSN preferred.
- Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, and innovative.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.

- Ability to communicate clearly and document efficiently in EHR.
- Knowledge in vaccine administration, storage, handling, and documentation.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures.
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
- Knowledge of using medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
- Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications, as directed.
- Skill in taking vital signs.
- Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Customer service skills; social perceptiveness and service-oriented.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
