Regional Operations Manager

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for managing one or more functional areas within a region, including Line, Gas, Meter, Substation, and Field Customer Service. This role provides leadership and direction to achieve goals and implement change, with a focus on safety, reliability, customer satisfaction, cost-effective resource allocation, staff selection and development, process improvement and oversight, major project management, and daily field operations activities.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Develops and implements annual business plans, including O&M and Capital budgets, and monitors ongoing progress to ensure goal achievement.
2. Oversees and evaluates work processes, identifies and implements process improvements, and creates a climate of innovation within the organization.
3. May be responsible for Senior Management budget analysis, KPI and mandated inspection reporting.
4. Selects, trains, and develops personnel, guides and appraises work of subordinates, and rewards and disciplines as appropriate.
5. Coordinates key contract bids and awards with Procurement, researches and resolves invoice processing and payments with Finance and Procurement, and ensures compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, and safe work procedures.
6. Oversees, supports, and participates in service restoration process during electric and gas emergencies, coordinates cross-functional problem solving, and resolves employee relations, labor relations, and customer relations issues.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree with 7 years relevant experience required.
• Managerial and leadership skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
• Prior experience with project management preferred.
• Ability to multitask and set priorities.
• Acts as mediator/negotiator with all perspective business partners.
• Customer focused.
• Ability to administer to budgets, contracts, staffing needs, performance management goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with Utility professionals across the company.
• Ability to develop and manage a safe work environment.
• Leadership experience in a union environment preferred.
