Rehabilitation Nurse: E8 Inpatient Unit

Albany Medical Center seeks a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our E8 Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit as a weekend track day nurse.
About the RoleThis dynamic role requires a rehabilitation nurse who can provide high-quality patient care, assist patients in adjusting to chronic illness or injury, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, procedures, and special tests, while documenting treatment according to company policy and local/state/federal regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administer over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A graduate degree in a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
- A current New York State Registered Nurse license.
- Obtained and maintained certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- A minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques, demonstrating ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement.
