Business Account Specialist

The Business Account Specialist will serve as a key resource and business account expert for the branches in Skyla Credit Union, assisting business members with complex servicing issues including set-up and maintenance of business accounts, online banking tools, and other account related services. The BAS will assist commercial lending consultants with larger, more complex ownership structures while helping develop the non-lending relationship with those clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up on leads and return calls to business services members to expand our membership for small businesses with account and service requests.
- Business development responsibilities include calling on existing business members, responding to small business requests including accounts, online tools, merchant services, and lending referrals.
- Work with and support the commercial lending consultants by opening and maintaining deposit relationships with new and existing business members.
- Perform as the subject matter expert on business deposit related products and services including online/mobile for business, Autobooks and reporting, and all account maintenance or setup procedures.
- Follow an ongoing business development plan with the support of the branch personnel by taking qualified leads and developing new relationships or enhancing existing relationships.
- Act as a liaison with business team and branch staff during the referral process to assure a timely and seamless process for the member.
- Attend training sessions as the SME and communicate knowledge in a clear, concise manner to encourage the development of skills across other departments.
- Learn how to gather, review, submit and present complete service package recommendations to include evaluation of business and commercial real estate financial statements, tax returns, personal financial statements, and credit bureau information. Analysis of cash flow, ratios, and projections is expected along with active participation with the lending team in other due diligence activities.
- Communicate service recommendations, terms and or conditions to members in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage time effectively to meet/exceed established sales goals. Prepare activity reports weekly/monthly.
- Comply with all Federal regulations, Credit Union policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy and the USA Patriot Act.
- Perform job duties in accordance with the Credit Union's values, mission and vision.
- Perform other various duties as assigned.
- College degree or equivalent educational and work experience.
- Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and sales skills.
- Strong communication skills include Public Speaking and training facilitation.
- A demonstrable record in establishing new business and in setting and achieving annual goals.
- Present a positive and professional image through courteous and effective verbal and written communications.
