Job Overview

Owensboro Racing & Gaming LLC is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Strategic Partner to enhance our HR initiatives and support our operational goals. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring compliance with HR policies and regulations.

Role Summary

The Human Resources Strategic Partner will manage various HR programs and processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives. This position will advocate for employees while balancing operational needs, promoting fairness, and nurturing positive employee relations. The HR Strategic Partner will deliver comprehensive support in areas such as employee relations, compensation, retention, performance management, and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant to management, ensuring adherence to legal standards and effective resolution of personnel issues.
  • Provide leadership support to meet departmental goals through regular one-on-one interactions and participation in team meetings.
  • Address routine employee relations concerns and escalate complex issues to senior HR leadership as necessary.
  • Assist staff and management with inquiries related to benefits, terminations, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintain and update internal HR databases, including performance and corrective action logs.
  • Collaborate with employees and management to interpret HR policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
  • Facilitate communication of HR changes and conduct informative sessions for employees.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development in all HR areas through training and self-study.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding onboarding, employment practices, and employee relations.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee concerns, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze exit interview data to provide insights for management aimed at improving retention.
  • Deliver HR-related training to enhance workforce capabilities.
  • Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings and candidate screening.
  • Provide analytical support for various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Manage employee leave processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to leverage expertise in implementing functional initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree coupled with a minimum of two years of HR experience, or HR certification with four years of relevant experience.

  • Preferred HR Certification
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Proficient in multiple HR disciplines.
  • Ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
