Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Choctaw Global. As a Physician Assistant - Military Healthcare Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the health and readiness of our nation's defenders.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, leveraging cutting-edge telehealth technologies to expand access to care and enhance patient engagement. You will have the chance to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including military personnel and healthcare specialists, to provide comprehensive medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for service members.

Responsibilities
  1. Support Military Readiness and Well-Being: Conduct thorough evaluations for mobilization/demobilization, ensuring service members are medically prepared for deployment. Utilize Health Risk Appraisal tools and established SOPs to facilitate health assessments. Manage an average of four to six patients per hour for routine assessments and two to four patients an hour for more in-depth assessments.
  2. Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Deliver comprehensive medical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for service members while adhering to clinical standards and regulations. Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests, ensuring timely follow-up based on abnormal results. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure service members receive appropriate referrals and care.
  3. Manage Cases and Ensure Documentation: Document all patient encounters in MHS Genesis within twenty-four hours, maintaining complete and accurate records according to MTF and DoD policies. Participate in care conferences and peer reviews to contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System-internet (DMHRSi) as required.
  4. Be a First Responder in Crisis Situations: Respond to medical emergencies, including cardiopulmonary arrests, in a timely manner. Work closely with the medical commander and leadership to identify and address patient care challenges proactively.
  5. Utilize Telehealth Technologies: Leverage telehealth tools for remote health assessments, consultations, and education, ensuring care continuity regardless of location. Integrate innovative telemedicine solutions for follow-ups and patient management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • At least one year of full-time experience as a Physician Assistant within the last three years. Experience in a high-demand clinical environment, demonstrating flexibility, critical thinking, and effective teamwork.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant within any jurisdiction.
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
