Job Information

State of Tennessee is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of DCS Intake Team Leader. This position is responsible for providing oversight and supervision to a team of DCS Intake Specialists, ensuring that referrals of alleged child abuse and neglect are handled in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide guidance and support to direct reports, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  2. Conduct conflict management resolution, mitigate imminent risks, and handle complaints related to Intake Specialist customer service or intake concerns.
  3. Review and make screening decisions on initial intakes from DCS Intake Associates, and complete reconsidered referrals that require screening modifications.
  4. Monitor the Child Abuse Hotline phone system and DCS electronic intake database to ensure that calls are being answered in a timely manner and intakes are processed and completed in a timely manner.
  5. Perform NCIC criminal background checks via the Tennessee Information Enforcement System (TIES) for emergency removals of children by DCS.

Requirements
  1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or related field of study.
  2. Experience equivalent to three years of full-time professional work providing child welfare services, including social, psychological, or correctional counseling or case management.
  3. Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed, and to work remotely or in a physical office location.
