Clinical Nurse IV- Operating Room- FT Day Shift

Job Summary:
The University of California, Irvine is seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse IV to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating all clinical functions, nursing practice, and standards of care related to the delivery of patient care within the assigned specialty service.
Responsibilities:
- Use the nursing process to design, coordinate, and deliver care to meet the identified needs of patients having operative procedures.
- Assist in directing daily activities, leading, planning, controlling, and evaluating nursing practices and operations for the specialty area.
- Provide patient care to assigned patients and serve as a clinical expert and resource for the specialty service.
- Serve as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients, and students.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with service coordination of supply chain.
- Minimum of two years recent work experience in, and complete understanding of, the specific specialty procedures area served.
- Leadership skills, demonstrated by a minimum of four points in leadership roles/responsibilities within the last three years.
- Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics, and age-related acuity levels.
- All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- A minimum of three years of nursing experience in an acute care perioperative setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a perioperative setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role.
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
Licenses and Certifications:
- RN.
- CNOR.
- BLS.
