Job Overview:
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plasma collection facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and providing exceptional customer service to our donors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, and physical examination.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies.
- Referral to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for medical or technical issues.
- Support employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required.
- Pandemic coordination and support investigations as authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent with a recognized educational nursing program.
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with an estimated hourly wage range of $28.15 - $37.99. U.S.-based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan, company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits.
