Job Summary:

Marin City Health and Wellness Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to lead our clinic team. As a Lead Clinic Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, assessing patient problems and needs, and implementing plans of care. You will also advise patients on health maintenance and prevention, maintain clinical documentation, mentor other staff, and provide case management per protocol under the direction of the Provider.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care activities, including triage, medication management, and education.
  • Collaborate with the care team and providers to enhance the patient experience.
  • Perform comprehensive triage and advice for adult, geriatric, young adult, pediatric, infant, and pregnant/nursing mothers.
  • Process medication refills in accordance with protocol.
  • Respond to and manage emergency codes as per protocol.
  • Maintain crash cart and oxygen tanks per protocol.
  • Perform nurse visits under the direction of the Provider, including wound care, B12 injections, and medication reconciliation.
  • Assist with various procedures and provide patient education on medications, wellness, and disease management.
  • Effectively utilize MCHWC-approved educational materials to provide patient education.
  • Perform indirect and direct case management, including patient recalls, missed cancer screening care follow-up, and coordinating with specialty offices.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of MCHWC equipment and supplies.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Two-year degree in Nursing required; Bachelors and/or Master's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent to an RN or higher degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • One to two years of increasingly responsible nursing experience, including experience in community nursing.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels within the health center.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide administrative and nursing orientation to staff.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate patient responses to service provided, treatment, and medication.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation and reports.
  • Ability to respond to requests and inquiries from the general public.
  • Ability to apply basic time management and patient care coordination skills to effectively provide nursing services.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple work tasks, problem-solve, and analyze information toward sound decisions.
  • Ability to identify problems/issues, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions.
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential patient information.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid California Registered Nursing License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid California driver's license.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid CPR certificate.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid BLS certificate.
Language Skills:

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and requests from patients, co-workers, and others as necessary. Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, preferred.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to recognize problems, collect data, and establish facts.

Computer Skills:

High level of computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), electronic medical records, and web applications. Types 60+ WPM.
