Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Northern California Behavioral Health System. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in helping patients achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized activity therapy treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Conduct group and individual sessions for patients, utilizing various mediums such as art therapy, movement therapy, physical therapy, and occupational rehabilitation.
  • Evaluate patient progress and document results in patient charts and department records.
  • Communicate effectively with community resources and partners to schedule hospital groups and supplement programming.
  • Perform routine and assigned clinical and administrative tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field with a certification in music, art, physical, occupational, or recreation therapy.
  • One year of experience in a healthcare field with an emphasis on activities and/or recreational therapy.
  • Current CPR and CPI certifications.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatment.
  • Demonstrated group process, teaching, or training skills.
Skills and Abilities
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
  • Use standard office equipment and access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
  • Communicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner that can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking.
  • Give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracy.
