Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex mechanical systems for our UniMelt microwave plasma processing system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement upgrades to existing systems to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Analyze equipment malfunctions and failures, and develop corrective action plans to minimize downtime.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through concept generation and design reviews to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Develop and maintain equipment specifications for next-generation products, working closely with the process team.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop new equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Document equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for reference purposes.
  • Act as a point of contact for equipment performance-related questions and concerns.
Requirements:
  • BSME or related discipline.
  • Five (5+) years of experience with a proven track record of tackling complex, multi-disciplinary problems.
  • Previous experience in an industrial process industry involving movement of solid, liquid, or gaseous material.
  • Proven record of maintaining and improving production equipment.
  • Fluency with SolidWorks.
  • Self-directed learner who can own a project and drive to solution with limited outside direction.
  • Possesses a "do-what-it-takes" attitude, requiring going above and below nominal scope.
  • Background in powder handling equipment - specifically feeding and collection of fine (1-100micron) powder highly desired but not required.
