Job Overview:

The Hospitality Host at Access Dubuque's Grand River Center will provide exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

About the Venue:

The Grand River Center is a state-of-the-art convention center located in Dubuque, Iowa. With over 40,000 square feet of meeting and exhibition space, it's an ideal destination for events and conferences.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings and special items.
  • Provide quick, attentive, friendly, and professional service to banquet guests.
  • Ensure food items are served at proper temperature and immediately available upon request.
  • Ensure neat presentation of all ordered items with no spill-over.
  • Pre-bus tables and full buses during peak periods.
  • Maintain availability to work during multiple peak periods.
  • Stock beverage stations as needed (ice, juices, glassware, sugar packets, etc).
  • Respond promptly to customer requests and desires.
  • Maintain a professional and clean appearance.
  • Communicate effectively with wait staff, bus persons, bartenders, supervisors, and kitchen staff to enhance customer experience.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of bar offerings to answer patron questions accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, and other necessary compliance trainings.
  • Capacity to work in a team-oriented, event-driven environment.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with employees, coworkers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like manner.

Estimated Salary: $25,000 - $35,000 per year, depending on experience.
