Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electronic Security Systems Engineer to join our team at Siemens Government Technologies, Inc. This role will involve assisting in the design, configuration, and operation of electronic security systems, building control systems, and other low-voltage control sub-systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and configuration of electronic security systems and building control systems as defined by contract documents.
  • Develop and test plans from vendor-related manuals and installation instructions to operate the system per the project requirements.
  • Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.
  • Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
  • Provide field change information to the project team for the creation of as-built drawings and software.
  • Keep management and customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Develop site-specific training documentation for owner/operator on specific installed systems.
  • Participate in release meetings with project field teams.
  • Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
Requirements
  • Must reside in/near Huntsville, Alabama.
  • OSHA 30 Certification and First Aid CPR.
  • Must be willing to travel 35% of the time on projects.
  • Minimum five (5) years of technical experience in ESS systems.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working with federal customers.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working with USACE Huntsville ESS program.
  • Familiarity with the Army Corps of Engineers work process.
  • Familiarity with working in a secure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar software.
  • Ability to learn SGT proprietary software tools.
  • Must be accountable and adaptable, with the ability to handle a frequent changing environment and take responsibility for one's work.
  • Excellent decision-making, delegation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain and manage strong working relationships with current and prospective clients and within the Siemens organization.
  • Ability to think and solve problems on the spot.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge of VSS, ACS, IDS, mass notification, and building automation systems is highly desired.
Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. citizen and have a DOD Secret Clearance.
