Executive Chef Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Compass Group, North America. As a key member of our culinary department, you will be responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen, including supervising and preparing food items, developing daily menus, and assisting with ordering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
- Plan and create menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
- Produce and execute catering events.
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company's marketing and culinary team.
Requirements:
- A.S. or equivalent experience.
- Progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending on formal degree or training.
- Catering experience is a plus.
- High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable.
- Institutional and batch cooking experiences are helpful.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
- Must be experienced with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and the Internet.
- Must be willing to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
- ServSafe certified is highly desirable.
