Job Summary:

Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Services Specialist to join our team. As a Financial Services Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping members achieve their financial goals while maintaining excellent relationships with the community we serve.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary of $43,000 - $52,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $500. Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain consistent daily follow-up of all past due and delinquent accounts.
  • Utilize telephone and email contact with members to resolve account issues.
  • Counsel members on the importance of maintaining a good credit rating.
  • Research and correct errors in delinquent accounts.
  • Collaborate with Director of Collections/Senior Collector to address problem accounts.
  • Prepare and mail letters of late payments to members.
  • Obtain credit reports as required.
  • Maintain liaison with loan officers to apprise them of pertinent information.
  • Submit updated credit information to credit bureau.
  • Process repossessions, bankruptcies, charge-offs, and Collateral Protection Insurance as assigned/needed.
  • Perform clerical duties and daily mail.
  • Use cross-selling techniques to inform members of available services.
  • Complete documentation for loan extension and collection refinances.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of laws regarding repossessions, collections, and bankruptcy is essential. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required. Good credit standing is also necessary and will be verified during the pre-employment stage. A criminal background check and drug screening will be completed post-job offer.
