Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Saxco International. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our Custom Packaging Center in Fairfield, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production team to achieve world-class results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Collaborate with the planning department to complete production activities and meet customer demand.
  • Manage departmental budget and develop short- and long-range plans and goals for the production department.
  • Develop methods of improvement in production practices to promote efficiency and lower costs.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with team members through open communication, visibility, and involvement.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to supervisors and the production team.
  • Analyze and submit reports for production numbers, downtime, attendance, and overtime.
  • Work collaboratively with customer service, supply chain, purchasing, and other departments to reach goals and objectives.
  • Manage and report budget requirements and costs.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to the master production schedule to enhance productivity.
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations, company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a field or similar light manufacturing environment.
  • 5 years of experience in a production management role.
  • 5 years of experience managing people/projects and leading a team of 45 or more.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or 7+ years in field and position.
  • Experience with Profit & Loss (P&L) management preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of production tools and equipment.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience in implementing processes and procedures to improve training, productivity, processes, and safety.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attributes: Proactive team player with high energy and a constructive approach to fostering a collaborative environment.
