Join Our Team as a Pediatric Clinical Psychologist

Akron Children's Hospital, a premier pediatric healthcare system in Northeast Ohio, is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Clinical Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team in the Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Psychology.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity is for a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Clinical Psychologist with a strong interest in Behavioral Sleep Medicine. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our experienced team of sleep specialists to assess and treat behavioral sleep concerns in children, including insomnia, nightmare disorders, nighttime fears, circadian rhythm disorders, parasomnias, and sleep quality issues.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and treatment planning for children with behavioral sleep concerns
  • Collaborate with sleep specialists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop effective treatment plans
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), sleep restriction, and stimulus control
  • Participate in program development, quality improvement initiatives, clinical outcomes research, and training of pediatric psychology trainees
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship in child or pediatric psychology
  • License eligibility in the State of Ohio
  • A strong interest in the practice of evidence-based pediatric psychology, particularly in Behavioral Sleep Medicine
