About The RoleJob Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Lead Production & Build Engineer for Process Equipment. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery and assembly of all process equipment required to build our fusion demonstration system. Your role will involve close collaboration with scientists and engineers across multiple disciplines to guarantee timely and budget-friendly project execution.

You will play a crucial part in leading the production and fabrication of equipment necessary for our fusion demonstration system. This will include developing an evaluation process to qualify suppliers based on quality, reliability, speed, price, and other critical factors.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to understand their design requirements and source global suppliers who can produce our process equipment efficiently
  • Own the production and fabrication of all equipment needed for our fusion demonstration system, ensuring timely delivery and quality
  • Develop an assessment framework to evaluate suppliers based on key performance indicators such as quality, reliability, speed, price, and other essential criteria
  • Broaden our vendor network to anticipate and mitigate potential production bottlenecks
  • Implement cost reduction strategies for critical components through design engineering, supplier negotiations, and strategic sourcing
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience managing the fabrication and construction of process equipment
  • Expertise in multiple areas including vacuums, pumps, heat exchangers, blowers, compressors, and gauges
  • Able to leverage subject matter knowledge to reduce costs, ensure product quality, and guarantee reliability
  • Established relationships with vendors supplying similar components resulting in successful project delivery
  • Experience working closely with R&D technical teams
